Abstract:
The article discusses the importance of Ênio Silveira, the editor of the Cadernos do povo brasileiro, published between 1962 and 1964. Along with Álvaro Vieira Pinto he was the editor of this series, which reached 28 volumes before it was interrupted by the 1964 coup d’état. This social science series was sponsored by ISEB – the Superior Institute of Brazilian Studies (1955-1964) and published by Brazilian Civilization in Rio de Janeiro.
