Abstract:
The objective of this study is to make a brief exposition of the central theoretical axes of post-colonial theory and world systems theory, including an argument about their links to Marxism; to analyze some hypotheses on a possible philosophical and political basis for that link; and, based on those premises, to try to apply that link to a specific problem: the relationship between certain cultural forms and the reconstruction of collective “identities” in the context of globalization.
