Abstract:
The topic of this article is the formation of international oil trusts and the international cartel that exists in this sector. Keeping mind that the creation of both of these has been accompanied by the rise of imperialism, we seek to identify the principle authors of imperialism in order to help us understand the formative process and premises of the trusts and the cartel, emphasizing the work of Lenin. We focus on the formative process of the Standard Oil Company, which became the principle trust in this sector and influenced the destiny of various countries and peoples, particularly on the periphery of capitalism.
